About QR Generator

The QR Code Generator turns text, a URL, a phone number, an email address, an SMS or a Wi-Fi network into a scannable code. The preview redraws as you type, so you can see the pattern get denser as the payload grows and shorten the URL before it becomes a wall of pixels.

Two settings matter. Size sets the pixel dimensions of the preview and the raster download, from 128 to 512 px. Error correction (L, M, Q or H) adds redundant data so the code still reads when part of it is scratched, creased or smudged — higher levels survive more damage but make the pattern denser for the same payload. Download as PNG, JPEG, or SVG.

The code is generated in your browser from the text you typed. Nothing is submitted, nothing is registered, and there's no account.

Why this runs on your device

The real hazard with free QR generators isn't usually privacy — it's the business model. Many of them hand you a dynamic code that points at their own short domain and redirects to your link, which means your poster, menu or business card depends on a third party staying online and staying free. People have had printed codes go dark, or start demanding a subscription, months after the print run. A code generated here has your data baked directly into the pattern: nobody is in the middle, nothing expires, and nothing can be revoked. The privacy point is real but smaller — a Wi-Fi password or a personal phone number typed into the box does stay in the tab.

How to use QR Generator
  1. Type the text or URL to encode, or start from one of the URL / email / phone / Wi-Fi samples.
  2. Set the size and the error-correction level; the preview updates as you go.
  3. Choose PNG, JPEG or SVG and name the file.
  4. Download it, then scan the result with a phone to confirm it works.
Limitations and trade-offs
  • Static codes only. The data is encoded directly into the pattern, so there's no scan tracking or analytics, and you can't repoint a printed code at a new URL later — you'd have to generate and reprint. If you need to change the destination after printing, you want a dynamic-QR service, and this isn't one.
  • The code is always black on white with a fixed quiet-zone margin. There's no colour picker, no logo in the centre, no rounded modules or branded corner styles. If your brand guidelines demand a styled code, use a design tool.
  • Rasters are capped at 512 px, which is too small for large-format print. Use the SVG download for posters and signage — it scales cleanly to any size. Avoid the JPEG option for anything you'll print: JPEG compression puts soft halos around the modules, which is exactly the kind of noise a scanner struggles with. PNG or SVG scan more reliably.
  • One code at a time, and the text is encoded exactly as typed with no validation. A typo inside a Wi-Fi or vCard string produces a code that scans perfectly and then does nothing useful, so always test the finished code with a phone before printing it.
